Body Shop Event : Skincare Consultation, Makeover and more

Some of you might know that I had an event at The Body Shop on The Isle Of Wight on the 11th of April!
The event was to celebrate their one year anniversary since their refit, I was lucky enough to be their guest of honer for this event.

At the event I had a skin consultation/facial and a makeover.
Here is a list of all the skincare products the lovely Roxy used on my skin.

The Camomile cleansing butter was so gentle and relaxing on my skin, along with the aloe calming toner and the vitamin C skin reviver, my skin felt refreshed and baby bum smooth!

Roxy also did a makeover using the spring collection.
She went for something different to my normal makeup routine by going for a natural look with a mixture of pink eyeshades and a light coral lipstick.

The makeup products Roxy used were...

There was also a cake sale to raise money for a local Isle Of Wight Charity called http://www.missisle.com
The charity is for a young girl called Natasha Lambert, she loves the outdoors but has cerebral palsy which affects her speech and her limbs. She uses a wheelchair and a special walking aid, so needs constant care. Natasha has a love for sailing and takes part in many events using her specially adapted boat.
The money she raises goes to 3 charities that Natasha has chosen.
If you want to know more then please check out her website.

As a thank you the girls at The Body Shop said that I could pick any 3 items that I like and can have them as a thank you for coming along.
The three items I picked are...

At the end of the event me, my mum and a lovely blogger called Natasha all got a lovely hand scrub and massage session using the new Fuji Green Tea Range.

After the event me and Natasha went for a cheeky starbucks and had a nose around a few shops.

Smashbox Brand Review -

Some of you guys might know that I was kindly given some bits from Smashbox to try and review for you all.
I decided that I would turn this into a brand review after falling in love with the brand and a lot of their products.

Smashbox was launched in 1996 by the LA brothers Dean and Davis Factor who are the grandsons of the makeup legend Max.
This makeup brand is made for you to look your best under those bright studio lights when you're on shoot.

One of the first things they made was the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It gives you a perfect canvas for applying foundation with its silky texture.
It also contains vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea!
Worn under foundation or alone it is their best selling primer and really does reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores while it gives you that velvety finish.
Yeah its on the pricey side at £25 but I honestly believe it is worth every penny.

Next on the list is the Studio Skin hydrating foundation that claims to have 15 hour wear! This foundation is made to go along with the photo finish primer and will give you coverage that lasts even under studio lighting.
This stuff is amazing and I have successfully used up the whole thing. It's not often that I try a foundation that I don't just enjoy using but also finishing the whole thing!
Once again it is on the more pricy side at £28 but I can promise you that you get what you pay for with this beauty!

Moving on I decided to pair these two products together because they just work so well hand in hand.
The two products are the Full Exposure Mascara and the Limitless Liquid Liner.
The mascara lengthens my eyelashes beautifully and when built up it gives you that little bit of volume too.
If you watch me videos on youtube and have been asking me what mascara I have been using well its this bad boy!
The eyeliner is by far the best I have come across in all my makeup years so far!
It has an easy felt tip pen applicator and gives you a full dark black line and this won't smudge at all until you take it all off at the end of the day.

The last thing is the 24 Hour photo finish shadow primer.
If you know me I tend to just stick to my eyeliner and red lips combo but because of this product I am slowly starting to extend my day to day makeup routine.
This basically does what it says on the tin. It helps my eyeshadow stick to my eyelids without creasing at all.
If you are someone who enjoys to experiment with your eyeshadow then this is a need in your collection.

So whats my review on Smashbox...
Its fantastic and even though its pricey, it's so worth investing in and I will be buying more soon.
Out of everything I will 100% be buying the foundation, photo finish primer and the eyeliner again!

Nashy Masterful Collection - Review ://

So I am always on the hunt for some new makeup brushes and was kindly sent this beautiful set by Nashy to try and review for you all!

These brushes have synthetic bristles and are 100% Vegan, aswell as being completely cruelty free and approved by Peta; as some of you know I am a big animal lover, so when I am looking at new brushes this is something that appeals to me.

I love the stylish yet simple look of these brushes and of course not forgetting the amazing quality of them.
They come in a nice sturdy box and there are a complete set of 12.

The bottom two photos are my favourite brushes from this whole set.
I found when using these brushes they pick up the ideal amount of product, unlike a lot of cheaper brands available.
They blend perfectly into my skin without any streaks, or any of the bristles falling out.

My favourite brushes from this set are -

  • The Stippling Brush
  • The Contouring Brush
  • The Crease Brush
  • The Blending Brush
  • The Pencil Brush
Overall I am completely in love with this brush set; they are now my go to brushes whenever I do my makeup.
I really do highly recommend these brushes and are so worth the money!

Lazy Sunday ://

This outfit isn't amazingly interesting but it is very comfortable.
So it's Sunday, the saddest day of the week because most of us have work on Monday and we are probably going to spend all of our Sunday hungover!
Unfortunately for me I had to work half a day but I thought I would snap a couple of photos of my lazy Sunday outfit.

I love to just throw on this massive oversized grey cardigan from Newlook when I am feeling the need to snuggle up. ( click here for similar )
Also I am wearing this cute little T from Newlook which says "I'M FAMOUS BUT NO ONE KNOWS IT YET!!"
When I saw this top I knew I just had to get it!
It's made from a lovely thin cotton material so this will be so comfy in the warmer weather.
I have paired this cute little T with this gorgeous skirt from Miss Guided, I am not sure if I have mentioned it in a blog post before as it is fairly old but I love it!( click here for similar )
For the legs I am wearing some thick tights from Newlook with these cute little Vagabond Esc shoes from Newlook!

How was your Sunday ?
P.S - Happy Monday!

The WOW Mask :// Review

So I was kindly sent the WOW mask to try out and do a review on and I have to say I was surprised when I used this Mask!

This mask claims to do many things :

  • Soothe Irritated Skin
  • Provide a lifting effect
  • Reduces dynamic and fine wrinkles and signs of ageing
  • Lightens skin and reduces hyper pigmentation
  • Gives deep skin hydration and moisture
  • Restores your skins natural elasticity and tone
  • Reduces puffiness and redness

There is one downside to this product, it is £99.99 for a pack of 5.
So because of the price and everything it claims to do I really was expecting this product to WOW me and its safe to say it did!

When I opened the packet I was surprised when I saw the weird silicone texture of the sheet mask!
I opened the packet and took out the top section of the mask and peeled off the plastic sheets and placed it on my face.
I have to say you do need to fiddle around with this mask trying to stop it slipping down your face.
The mask its self is pretty big and I found it hard to fit my face without it creasing and slipping down my face.

After I applied the mask I left it for the full 40 minutes and let it do its magic!

It felt really nice on my skin and had a kind of cooling effect which made my skin feel refreshed.
When I was sat waiting and drinking my cup of tea it made me feel nice and relaxed.

After taking this mask off my skin felt fresh, plump and so soft!
I honestly feel like this mask massively helped the redness on my face and some how managed to help to reduce the colour of the scaring.
And it made my skin look nice and bright, like I have had a spar treatment!

Overall I love this product and although its out my price range it would make a good present for someone that likes the idea of a spar treatment but in their own home.

Zara Coat + Thigh High Boots ://

I have been super busy over the past couple of weeks and haven't had any time to sit and do some outfit posts for you guys.
But I have a whole week off so I am going to be taking lots of photos for outfit posts!

Anyway lets get onto this outfit.
I went shopping a couple of weeks ago with my friend Chloe and she was wearing this gorgeous green coat, so we popped into Zara and when I saw this coat I just had to get it.
It was on sale so I got it for £30 instead of £70 if I remember rightly.
Its a biker styled jacket which is thick and has this bobbly texture to it with some gorgeous silver hardware.

I decided to pair this coat with this gorgeous beige oversized jumper from H&M
I love this jumper because it almost looks like it's inside out and has a lovely high neck.

Also I am wearing this little body-con mini skirt from Newlook.
I just love my stripes and can't get enough of them!

And to top this outfit off I am wearing these gorgeous thigh high boots from eBay!
They are very similar to the Miss Guided ones but about £20 cheeper!

I am so excited to share all my new outfits with you guys so keep your eyes peeled!

My Little Box :// Review

So its review time again!
I was kindly sent a My Little Box by one of the team to help kick star my new year.
I have tried a few different types of beauty boxs in the past and this one seems to really stand out to me.
The box it comes in is a nice big size and is full to the brim with items.

What I really like about this brand of beauty box is the fact that they have a theme for every month so far, hopefully they will keep up to that standard.

If you haven't guessed already this box is called the 'Energy Box' so obviously its going to have items to help your skin and get you feeling fresh for the new year.

So the first things in my box were a My little box magazine, the photography in this little booklet was great.
I also got a little Happy New year card and a diary for 2015.

So lets get onto the important items in this box!

The biggest thing in this box was the gym bag, its gorgeous but I still have yet to use it, but I am planning on starting Zumba soon so I am sure I will find a use for it then.

I also got a little fabric bag with a couple of cosmetic items in it.

The first thing I got was this gorgeous deep, red wine colour by Nails Inc in the colour Tate, as a brand of nail varnish it only needs a couple of coats and lasts a week without chipping too much.
I also received a hydrating moisturiser by Talika, this isn't a brand that I have heard of before but the product dose seem nice.
The next item is I think the favourite items in my box.
It is a emerging face and body mist, it has a fresh lemon sent to it and is packed with vitamin C which is known for amazing toning properties.
It also has a little bit of green tea in it which we all know is so good for you.

So this is defiantly one of the best beauty boxes on the market and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting to try one of these.
All the products are what I believe is full sized, and are 100% worth the money.
I can't wait to try another one of these lovely boxes!

If you have tried one then comment below and let me know what you thought of it, or if you are going to try one tweet me at @saliorsarah and let me know what you thought of it!
